If you're a mom of school-aged kids, this sounds familiar. I thought I was busy with three kids at home. And truthfully, I was. But this is a completely different type of busy.
So, considering I spend half of each day in the car or waiting at my children's place of activity, I'm not home a lot to create. When I am, I'm either exhausted or distracted by things like the mound of dishes in my sink or the piles of laundry I should be folding. (Should being the operative word!) Plus there's all the "supervising" of homework I have to do. Seriously- it's crazy!
I also have Sunday School lessons to plan, scriptures to study, exercise to do, and much more.
I know you're all busy too. What I don't know is, how do people do it? How do they accomplish all they need to do and still find time and energy to create? I just can't seem to get it done! When I realize I not only have to make a project, but take photos, edit them, and write a blog post, I'm ready to quit before I even start.
So, while I figure out how this whole kids-in-school thing is going to work with the craft-blogging thing, know I DO have things in the works, and I'm still going to share what I'm doing when I can.
I'm working on re-doing my daughter's bedroom. It's very PINK! I've got a whole bunch of projects to share, hopefully soon!
I'm also changing up the bedding in my master bedroom. I don't want to pay for new bedding right now, but I've found a way to give my bedroom a whole new look! (If I ever finish sewing.....)
Here's the "Before"- just to tease you!
Of course, Halloween is coming up, and that means some fun decor, as well as working on costumes. I'm going the easy route this year and buying most things from the store, but I am making bits and pieces of costumes to save a little money.
I've even started some of my handmade Christmas gifts! Sorry- no pictures, so I don't spoil any surprises!
So, I guess creating is going on- just not at the pace I've gotten used to. If you have any tips to share about how you balance your family's needs with your need to create, I'd love to hear them.
My son's third birthday is on Saturday, and while we're not having a "party" so to speak, I will be sharing how we are making his day special. So, if you've got a kid that loves Mickey Mouse, I hope you'll stop by next week to see how we celebrated his birthday! Have a great weekend-
